Bookshare is the world’s largest library of ebooks for people that read differently. The collection has nearly a million titles and empowers hundreds of thousands of people who cannot read traditional books due to disabilities like blindness, low vision, and dyslexia.

Content Services
Benetech’s GCA certification is the first-ever independent third-party digital accessibility certification program. Our goal is to help publishers build born accessible content that meets the needs of all readers. We are working towards a future where all books are born accessible and government support may not be needed to make education content accessible.

Our Approach
We strive to maximize the social impact of our work by ensuring that all learning materials are accessible via our leading global edtech platform, while also changing the way content is created. It is important to provide learning materials and support to students with learning differences or disabilities whether rural or urban communities; in charter, public or private schools, or school at home. All learners have the right to access educational opportunities.
Content
Focus on high-impact, high-quality materials to meet rigorous quality standards and demonstrated student need: accessible STEM materials, for example, can ensure students with disabilities can participate in competitive careers and jobs of the future.
Technology
Deliver simple and streamlined tools and services that meet students and teachers where they are, that fit easily in teachers’ or students’ instructional routines, and includes integration intolearning platforms they use at school.

Customized nationwide digital and personal engagement.
Capacity Building
Training and technical assistance to make sure that educators, students, and caregivers know how to effectively access and use accessible content.
Data
Collect, analyze and share key information on the availability, use, and impact of our accessible services and content, and work with our partners to apply this data for continual improvement in delivery.
