By Carrie Motamedi, posted on June 16, 2020Betsy Beaumon, Benetech CEO, shares insights on Human Potential at Work podcast
Betsy Beaumon joined host Debra Ruh on her show, Human Potential at Work, which explores social impact, inclusion, and empowerment of everyone including people with disabilities. The two female CEOs sat down together on Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) to discuss software for social good and technology as an equalizer.
An audio recording and full transcript are also available on the episode page at Ruh Global Impact.
They discussed Betsy’s impact leading the development and implementation of software for social good for more than a decade at Benetech, how she became a social entrepreneur, and why she pursued engineering in order to improve lives and make the world a better place.
Betsy gave an overview of Benetech’s work that addresses inclusion, equity, and justice across Benetech’s program areas of education, human rights, poverty alleviation, and employment. She highlighted the common theme throughout Benetech’s work which is the way the team bridges the corporate and social sectors to achieve results.
“As a nonprofit, Benetech can focus on where the market fails or doesn’t go.” – Betsy Beaumon
We want to thank Debra for the invitation and give a shout out to Betsy’s algebra teacher who encouraged her to be an engineer!
