I’m excited to announce that Benetech’s Bookshare initiative has recently crossed over 1 MILLION accessible ebooks under management, and we continue to grow. In addition to Bookshare’s huge collection of over 700,000 titles, Benetech manages hundreds of thousands of books for our partners around the world.
On November 29, 2016, Bookshare hit a momentous milestone when it passed the mark of 500,000 titles in its collection. That means that people unable to read standard print now have access to 500,000 ebooks in various formats to suit their individual needs.
Benetech, the leading nonprofit empowering communities in need by creating scalable technology solutions, today announced the appointment of Kevin Lo and Jennifer McFarlane to its Board of Directors. Lo and McFarlane join amid rapid expansion of Benetech’s Global Literacy and Human Rights Programs in addition to increased investments in Benetech Labs to identify and scale the next big social impact technology.
